I support the Marriage Protection Amendment, which will protect and preserve not only traditional marriage between “one man and one woman”, but also preserve the benefits afforded to this sacred institution and prevent counterfeit relationships such as ‘civil unions’ and ‘same-sex domestic benefits’. In thirty (30) states across America, people of all races, creeds and religions have spoken clearly by amending their state constitutions with overwhelming majorities to defend marriage from attack by a minority of people and activist judges who seek to totally redefine this sacred institution. I want to see marriage established as it was intended by God, biology, tradition and just common sense— between “one man and one woman”. No person’s sexual behavior and chosen lifestyle has the right to redefine marriage and its associated benefits, and then force that definition upon the rest of society. As a West Virginia citizen, I want to be able to vote on this amendment to our state constitution and strongly encourage you as my elected representative to support passage of the Marriage Protection Amendment without further delay.
